I say tomato – whether you call it Mallorca or Majorca one thing is for sure it is a beautiful island which really does have something for everyone.
During the 1970’s and 80’s parts of the island attracted a negative press with hoards of lager swilling Brits making the short journey from Palma Airport to the popular tourist resorts.
From the 1960’s onwards the more discerning traveller quietly headed north when touching down and made their way to the beautiful Puerto Pollenca (or Porto Pollensa if you prefer).
It is such a pretty town with it’s pine walk – a coastal pathway which stretches for just over two miles. It is wonderful to stroll along or find a bench and watch the world go by. If you prefer you can hire a bike or perhaps take a dip in the warm Mediterranean. The Pine Walk is dotted with restaurants and bars so there are plenty of places for pit stops.
Being an island the sea is an important part of most people’s holidays. Whether sitting on the beach looking at it, from a boat bobbing on it or scuba diving under it. For the adrenaline junkies there are the usual assortment of water sports readily available.
Flights to Palma are surprisingly reasonably priced and as many of the properties we have are within walking distance of all Pollensa’s many attractions Mallorca really is worth considering as a holiday destination.
