A spacious and welcoming property, ideal for families and groups of friends looking for rural seclusion, whilst being close to the beautiful town of Silves.
Quinta das Larenjeiras is a spacious and luxurious, countryside villa with a delightful garden, a welcoming swimming pool which can be heated, a tennis court and gym all set on a private, 40-acre plot surrounded by established planting, lawns, avocado and citrus trees.
The interior is full of natural light and divided across two levels. The spacious living and dining room opens onto a covered terrace for lounging and alfresco dining overlooking the beautiful garden. All six bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and chestnut wood floors, whilst the rest of the villa has terracotta tiled floors. There are mosquito nets on all secondary windows so that guest can keep them open on hot days, whilst the main “French” windows are fitted with shutters. The villa is also has a log burner and air-conditioning and underfloor heating throughout, making it suitable for year-round bookings.
Mostly laid to lawn and with pines trees providing plenty of shade, the garden is enclosed by a natural stone wall which allows guests to look out over the countryside whilst enjoying total privacy. A shaded games area has table tennis and table football and there are bicycles available for guests to use.
There is a home gym which includes a running and rowing machine, spinning bike, step machine and free weights.
The surrounding rural area is quite stunning and there are various amenities within a short drive, including Nick Faldo's 'Amendoeiras' golf course which is just 5 minutes away. Silves is only a short distance with its cobbled streets, open-air cafes, castle, cathedral and market. Away from the hustle and bustle of the coastline, here you can experience typical Portuguese life and explore the daily market selling local produce and crafts – on Saturdays the market doubles in size. You can complete your afternoon with an ice-cream and a stroll along the riverbank of the Rio Arade.
A basic welcome hamper is supplied on arrival which includes a very special bottle of wine produced by the owners themselves, plus fresh fruit, seasonal produce from the garden and some basic essentials.
It is possible to organise a private chef, cocktail barista or beach picnic. A bespoke program of activites including tennis coaching, yoga, surfing lessons and an outdoor cinema experience can be arranged in advance to suit your group’s needs. Please ask us for more details and a quote.

Originally the Moorish capital, Silves is now a thriving community with a bustling riverside complete with pavement cafés, cobbled walkways and cycle paths along the river. The vegetable and fish market is best on Saturday morning, spilling onto the narrow shopping streets, where an old fashioned hardware store and haberdashery sit alongside souvenir shops and bakeries selling delicious cakes. Silves is home to Rui's, one of the Algarve's longest established restaurants which serves excellent fish and seafood. The sandstone castle stands high above the town and has stunning views over the surrounding countryside and the River Arade. The cosmopolitan Café Inglês is next door to the castle and has an interesting menu and live music on Saturdays and Sundays (advance booking is usually required).
Despite its proximity to the coast, Paderne is very much a traditional village. Local produce is traded in the markets here and in nearby Algoz and Messines. There...
