Finca Ricardo is a charming and private retreat, nestling on the lower slopes of the Tramuntana mountain range. There are splendid countryside views, and the beautiful old town of Pollensa is just a few minutes drive, while the beaches of Cala San Vicente and Puerto Pollensa are around 8km away.
The property is a restored family home and full of character. The original dwelling dates back to the eighteenth century but there are some welcome modernisations like air conditioning in the bedrooms. Built on two floors, this stone clad farmhouse has many traditional features including interior stone walls and terracotta tiles, and is comfortably furnished throughout.
From the front covered terrace, original wooden double doors open into the large hallway. To the left is the traditional living room with wooden beams, comfy sofas, open foreplace and TV. The dining room has lovely views to the garden and swimming pool. The fully fitted kitchen is well equipped and has a walk-in pantry as well as all the appliances you would expect to cater for your family. A door from the kitchen leads through to the barbecue area and terrace.
The main stairway leads up to the galleried landing and onto the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and direct access to a private sun terrace. Two further attractive bedrooms each have a doorway opening to the second sun terrace and share a good size family bathroom.
To the rear of the house is the impressive covered dining terrace with a huge, solid oak "banquet" dining table comfortably seating 8 people. This leads down to a recently renovated terrace with a superb oval shaped swimming pool with Roman steps, surrounded by good quality sun loungers. There is a shaded terrace to escape the midday sun and guests can even pick their own grapes from the owner's vineyard!

Things we love
"We particularly love the traditional Mallorcan fincas with stone walls, wooden beams and bags of charm, often with a mountain backdrop across vibrant green valleys. The scenery is quite something."
Things to be aware of
"Away from the main, tourist areas there are some stunning and secluded beaches just off the beaten track which are well worth exploring but, remember, not all of them will have facilities so make sure you pack provisions like water and snacks just in case."
