This beautiful development consists of eleven luxury villas, each with its own swimming pool. The villas are all built on two levels and are located on the popular island of Hvar, just 3kms from Stari Grad. The villas are set in stunning countryside with lovely sea views and are within easy reach of the busy tourist spots.
Larger groups can rent more than one villa so that they can enjoy spending time together without loss of privacy.
There is a private beach just 500m away for guests of Hvar Retreat villas only.
Villa 1 is a four bedroom villa on a corner plot within the development.
Stari Grad is located on the north side of the Hvar island and it is the oldest settlement on the island. The town has very good ferry connections with Split. Around the square are narrow cobbled streets and small stone houses with wooden shutters. This area remains completely unspoilt and is scented with lavender, olives and wine!
There is much to see around the town, with the earliest signs of civilisation dating back to Neolithic times, there is interesting architecture, an amazing 17th Century church, decorated with work by various Venetian artists and a trip to the famous Gramotorov house is worth a visit.
Electric golf carts can be hired upon request for easier transfers to the nearest beaches. Safety deposit for the golf cart is 1 000 EUR, payable locally. Guests are responsible for any damages.

The island of Hvar is approximately 68kms long and unlike other islands in the region has fresh water springs. It’s hillsides are covered in pine forests with vineyards, olive groves, fruit orchards and fragrant lavender fields. The climate is perfect with mild winters and warm summer and with around 11,000 occupants Hvar is the 4th most populated of the Croatian islands.
The island’s location at the centre of the Adriatic sailing routes has long made it an important trading base, across to Italy and on to the wider Mediterranean. Today Hvar is a popular destination for tourists and is consistently listed in the top ten islands by Conde Nast Traveller Magazine. The medieval Hvar town has more than a hint of Venice in it’s impressive architecture – it was under Venetian rule that the people of Hvar honed their magnificent stone carving skills that can be seen throughout the town. Hvar produces some excellent wines – the best reds come from the south coast and the best whites from the northern side. The air is filled with the scent of lavender which is sold in most of the islands shops.
